The u-Rippa program is the only water safety education program of its kind in Australia. It is the future in water safety education.
The u-rippa program is quickly becoming recognized as the most innovative, progressive and superior current awareness program in Australia.
Austswim has recently employed the u-Rippa program in 40 of their facilities across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW. Every centre, instructor and parent were highly impressed with the u-Rippa program
The Royal Life Saving Society Australia Training Centre has conducted several u-Rippa programs at their centre.
What makes the u-Rippa program unique and superior than other programs?
Mainstream water safety education in Australia is built around superficial learning. Our kids are learning water safety skills from their seats in the classroom or in unrealistic conditions in the pool. The children are unable to link what they are learning to real experiences and fill the gap with what they imagine it is like. This results in low levels of understanding and retention. It also has the potential to mislead the children into underestimating what it will be like in a real situation, which can quickly lead to surprise, shock, fear and panic.
The u-Rippa program is based around authentic learning strategies. The ‘hands on experience’ approach facilitates a higher level of understanding and retention. The kids understand what they are learning and why they are learning it.
We provide them with a greater understanding of what to expect, which reduces the possibilities of panic
We provide them with training for how to act, which promotes effective decision making and stronger skills.
Your kids safety is paramount. For their lifelong safety it is essential that you put them in a program where they are going to learn something productive.
